Cyborg on Oricon

Those of you who like numbers might be interested to know that Cyborg Oretachi made it to number 49 on the Oricon album chart.

Which, considering their recent performances in the singles chart, isn't too bad at all!

Good to see up-and-coming groups crack into this lineup!

Number 49 is still pretty terrible for a new album release. I think only 1-2 new albums came out on the same day as Halcali. Okay, so I knew Kinki Kids would outsell them, but I guess I kinda hoped that Halcali would at least come in somewhere in the top twenty. I guess I should stop getting my hopes up.

I hope they use this album as a learning experience. I've always had choppy feelings about Halcali's future ever since they switched labels.

interesting factoid: haruka and yukari are still much younger than when Puffy made their "break" in 1996 (the Puffy duo was 21 & 23 then).

Not sure what exactly is left to learn though . . . even Puffy isn't making much of a dent on the charts these days.

Perhaps a TV show would work for Halcali . . . Haruka would make a good boke, though their height difference is kinda tough to film on a set I suppose :)

nova> I know, you're right. Perhaps I was just trying to balance out a lot of my other writing on Halcali recently, which has been kind of negative.

you know, i dont think 49 is such a bad position. i wasn't expecting a placing that high.

and despite all the bad reviews ive been hearing, i am fairly pleased with the album. its not fantastic, and i dont like it as much as susume (which is my favourite), but its a good, decent album. as much as you can say it sucks, its better than a lot of the crap out there right now.
the only track that bugs me is halcali michi. theres something off about it....

but the worst part of the whole album is the booklet. that was seriously cheap! >:(

in other news, halcali shirts for sale on ebay:
