MTV Countdown Show set

Here's the set as it was broadcast on MTV Japan. Without access to the set-list, I don't know if this is the full (albeit edited for TV) set, or if they're were more songs in the set that MTV just cut out completely. Hopefully it was the latter, and the 'medley' included more than just a couple of the early singles. No Wakakusa Dance?
Watching the set, I kept thinking back to that 2ch poster criticising it by saying that Halcali didn't put enough effort in on stage. Even in a set as short as this, there are parts where I have to say that I agree with him to an extent. With nothing else on stage, these kinds of gigs rely 100% on performer input, and standing perfectly still and staring at the stage doesn't do much to enliven Tip Taps Tip.
If you're a newcomer to Halcali and you want to see proof that these girls have genuine talent though, just take a look at this performance of Twinkle Star.

Awww poor Halcali! You could see them lose energy as the performance went on. Probably because they were faced with that audience. No one in the crowd looked like they knew Halcali, and only a very small number of people were clapping... or not standing there blank faced. It must have been a little intimidating.

^Agreed.

But, the girls didn't seem very into it at the beginning anyway.

Maybe they would have been a little more into it if they had fun clothes are something *I don't know...fun clothes might boost their spirits/silliness*

Well, either way, the girls are really going to have to work hard to increase their fanbase.

They just died at the end didn't they? There was little to no energy or enthusiasm at all. Its strange that they should still be struggling with this at this point in their career- surely they must have faced strings of indifferent audiences in the past.

I liked the performance of Twinkle Star though.

Hey it's an optimystik tee! Nonetheless methinks DJ Non is off on a roll this year especially with so many gigs to attend to. In a sense it seemed like a pretty squashed performance, it seemed like a very downsized preawards show. Nothing like the kinds you see given to the other high profile stars (I think Namie had an outdoors one which was able to facilitate more people). I guess there's the problem with the fact that these girls haven't hit the highest moment in showbiz. They're probably still unsure how to act when a camera is pointing at them. Hell maybe they're just getting rusty. Maybe Ryo-Z could always teach them some tricks.

What I did enjoy about the performance is that the girls are reminding some fans that these are quite consistent performers in a sense. Sure they don't exactly floor everyone but they don't slip or trip over words.

It's a bit of a let down but I sure hope as hell they're releasing something soon. At least before christmas.

I enjoyed this. mostly because it was new, and there aren't any Halcali Live perfromances this long (televised atleast)... Im ready to buy they're next album T_T i hope it gets released this year. I mean seriously i've never been so eager to buy or pre-order an album.

I wonder what are the chances for this? I mean the albums are generally produced/overseen by Ryo-Z & Fumiya. Fumiya's not due to be back working until Fall. Unless he does preparations and even then he'll have to work through recording, mixing & whatnot. Rip Slyme are releasing a new album as well so I reckon the new album is going to be quite a while. :\

They've been in the studio though with i deps Nakamuara (I think I posted about it a while back). No word on if it was a single or an album they were working on, but its good news either way. I liked Nakamuras b-side stuff enough to imagine that a non-OTF related Halcali still has a rosy future.
