Details on Halcali's free Tokyo gig
Yesterday afternoon Halcali played a free outdoor gig as part of the (scroll down a couple of posts). Here are details on the setlist taken from the Tokyo Midtown Showcase Halcali thread on 2ch.
「It's Party Time!」
「LOOK」
「endless lover's rain」
「伝説の二人/Dentetsu No Futari」
「愛/Ai」
「コンティニュード/Continued」
After the poster writing that they thought they played another too, the next poster says they also played check!! check!! it!!
Sounds like I missed another great gig! I love how, despite it being a short set played to a number of people who were probably new to Halcali, they still don't simply roll out a 'greatest hits' type set, and instead went for a much more thoughtful, mid-tempo set built around regular album tracks, b-sides and other obscurities. Quite right too- both Dentetsu and Continued are classic Halcali!
Did anyone else make it to the gig?
p.s Although the 2ch link I provided is safe for work, often 2ch has dodgy content that probably isn't. Being totally unmoderated, most of the content is garbage anyway, but you should definitely exercise a bit of caution, especially when clicking on a link over there.
p.p.s Just read this on another post on the same 2ch thread
タンデムのTシャツを着た外国人もいた。Come on, own up, that was you wasn't it?!
There was also a foreigner there wearing a Tandem t-shirt.

If anyone got pictures it would be much appreciated! I would love to see some of this set, it really is a great mix for a unique performance.
Also, as a note for those going to Chicago to see Halcali. They will be doing a concert on Friday and Saturday night, but you only get a ticket to one of those shows. You might be able to get in without a ticket depending on the turnout, but it's first come first served until the room limit is hit.
Although from looking at the forums it might be a non-issue for the Halcali fans going. I would say about 70% of the people talking about them are disappointed and are saying they won't go to the concert. Of course these might be the loud few, but it's still a little disheartening that so many people are brushing them off already and they haven't even seen them yet...

I bought another issue of the Bathing Ape/BAPE catalog and guess who's in it? Yup, Halcali! I'll have to take a photo and upload it when I have a chance.

It is a shame to see the reaction in a way, but I wouldn't pay it too much attention. I'd be surprised if they didn't get a big turnout.

Mate, if you could bootleg the show and put it up somewhere for us that would be fantastic!
If you'd let the girls know about the blog I'd love that too! As for questions, I guess I would personally ask them something about upcoming releases (including the French release of Cyborg which I believe still hasn't come out?)
There are other questions I'd like to ask, but doubt I'd get the answer to (how do they feel promotion has been since moving to Epic, why exactly did they leave For Life, how long can foresee Halcali going for esp. in the face of recent record sales, do they feel like, with better promotion (and a few better songs?) they could have been in the position Perfume are in now etc.)
I know we'd all love to hear a bootleg of the gig though!
