Here you go...part 2 (Giri Chocolate)

Here's a recording of the new song, (tentatively titled) Giri Chocolate, taken from their recent acoustic cinema gig (scroll down a couple of posts).

I'm guessing the third voice is Yosuke's, and personally I think his voice is on the track a little more than I'd like, but everything else about this- from the song to the performance to the audience clapping along- I love.

Apparently they've already played it on their slot on Buzz Room, which means they've already taken it into the studio, which hopefully means that it'll be on the next album (although a song about Valentine's Day on an album released near the summer might jar a bit). Although the track sounds a little Ongaku No Susume-lite in this setting, i'm sure a lot more has been done with it in the studio.

From the recent download only tracks, to the b-sides of the last three singles to this, in recent months it's felt like if you want to get at Halcali's best post-For Life work, you really have to look for it.

Thanks a ton!
Where did you come across this?

I'm actually really liking this!
It's lite, sweet and just a little peppy. Not to mention, the girls sound great! XD
I've actually just caught myself smiling and swaying.
I definitely hope we see this on the new album!
:D

Sounds very Hawaiian, might sound nice on a hot summers day.

Is this a recording from the actual show or is it just the same as one they performed. Are there no other tracks from that show around yet?

Interesting! I can't tell if I like it... or if I'm just in shock from an utter lack of vocoder... no, no, I think I like it!

Thanks for the comments guys-

Sora> 2ch ;)

cobs> I hope the rest of the gig is floating around somewhere- just this one song gave a pretty decent indication of how good it was.

They said to expect the new one spring/summer this year.
I personally hope the internet only songs wont be on it (unless its in some kind of bonus material format) if it means we'll get to hear more new material. If we assume TTT, Twinkle Star, Look AND Tougenkyo will be on the album, thats 4 out of what will probably be 12 or so tracks that we know already.

I should also add that if we include Giri Chocolate too, that means we'll be familiar with nearly half the album before we even put it on.

yea i was thinking the same thing...it would be nice to have the internet songs on a real cd, but then that would mean less other new songs.

most ppl wouldn't have heard the internet songs tho i'm guessing so they might put them on there.

when you think about it, they get the hardcore fans to essentially pay for the same songs twice >< it's some kind of evil genius marketing strategy. kind of like micropayments. srry i'm a pessimist :(

It'd be neat if sony did a limited press of their next album with the download tracks as either bonus tracks, or on a second disc.
Although....I really want a first press with a PV DVD.
That would please me to no end.

Fairly offtopic, but I was just playing 'Giri Chocolate', and my dad (who usually hates whatever jpop I happent o put on) was bopping and dancing around saying "The tempo and vocals are not quite what you hear all the time. It's nice."
HAHA
GOOOO HALCALI!!! XDXDXD
