Girl! Girl! Girl!
The third and last download only Halcali track, Girl! Girl! Girl! was released February 1st, bringing this odd and slightly frustrating project to a close. Like the last two releases, it's nothing particularly special, but give the link above a click and listen to the preview.
Composing credits go to Nakatsuka Takeshi, with lyrics by Pizzicato Five's Nomiya Maki.
From M-Flo through to Fantastic Plastic Machine, Cubismo Grafico, (part of) Rip Slyme, Supercar, Yuki, Cibo Matto, Pizzicato Five and all the others, it seems like almost every name you would want Halcali to be associated with have been at some point in their past. These name producers love them, the public don't. Perhaps if everyone who recorded with them or wrote a song for them also bought 2,000 copies of the record, we'd be getting somewhere.

Does this one have a fair dose of rap? I sampled it but didn't have time to buy it yet, but I'm planning to. The sample did sound good, plus lyrics are by NOMIYA Maki (Pizzicato Five).

I haven't bought it yet either, although it didn't really leave an impression on me to be honest. Did you download the other two?

Aw I wanna hear! Would someone be interested in sharing these download only mp3s with those of us who don't have japanese credit cards. Pretty please?

is having a japanese credit card the only way to hear them? bummer.

I just bought this one, very good track to my ears! Sure it's closer to a club sound than Halcali's usual sound, but that's fine with me.
I also got "2 Higher Clap 007" which is a lot of fun!

It's not the only way, but the only other way involves having to live in Japan too. Theres i-tunes type cards called 'web money' for sale at convinience stores that can be used to pay for it. After a jaunt round a few places yesterday though I was unable to find any. I'll try again today.

I downloaded it. Which means I paid money for it. Which should mean that I own it. Which I don't. I can't remove it from Sony's player (MAGIQLIP2) which means that I can't play it on my i-pod which means that I can't enjoy or even use a product that I paid for. Thanks Sony!
I have absoutly no qualms about sharing this song, but I have no idea how to get it off this stupid player.
God I hate this company.

Yeah I hate Sony's stuff too...!
Don't tell anyone ;) but my trick is to use simple recording software and record while playing it in MAGIQLIP2. So I really only play it once in MAGIQLIP2, and then I save it to WAV or MP3 or whatever I like. I do so just for myself so I think it's fair use.

i use audio hijack to make mp3s of songs that will only stream, not download, for me on myspace. it might only be on mac though. are you on a mac, jariten?
6:54 AM
No, i'm not. But i'll check out your suggestion to be sure. I've got all 3 songs downloaded now if only I can figure out how to get them off this thing...
Patrick> what software do you use? (If you don't mind sharing the information)
8:41 AM
OK, I figured it out...!

Hey! Great blog and thanks for the mp3s up above!
Did Yuki really write a track for Halcali? Which one? I'd really like to hear it.
Anyway, I've been a Halcali fan ever since I heard Girigiri surf rider (definitely my number 1 track from them) and I even saw them twice live when I lived in Japan (both free radio shows). I made a recording of one of them with my MD player. The first show was really intimate. I was in the second row and they were literally 5 feet in front of me.
Keep up the good work!

I thought it was Yuki but now that I think about it I might be thinking of Yuki's production team Honesty...I'd better check and change the post!
I'm jealous you caught them live!
