Limited Edition Halcali

Something came up on the group's website about 3 limited edition Halcali tracks that will be available for download from the site.

Under the theme of 季節 (season), one song will be released every month, available for download that month only, starting on the 1st of December, followed by the next song on the 1st of January, with the last being released on the 1st of February.

The first will be a "powered up" version of the song Slalom '03: Queen of the Slopes from the limited edition Strawberry Chips single. Imaginatively retitled Slalom '06, it seems like the powering up (let's just call it a remix) duties have been done by Second Royal records' Handsomeboy Technique.

The next two releases have been given the tentative titles Halcali: New Year and Halcali: Valentine.

Although the site claims that the original Slalom song was a Christmas tune, I don't remember it being anything of the sort. It is great though. Perhaps Halcali recorded new lyrics for the song?

How we might get hold of these songs is still a bit of a mystery though. My best guess would be download from Sony for a fee. It should hopefully become a bit clearer on December 1st.

UPDATE:

Slalom's out today, and you can listen to a bit of it after clicking on the blue link (試聴) on Halcali’s Sony site.

As for how to get hold of it, it looks like you need a credit card, 210 yen, and you’ll also have to download Sonic Stage, which looks like Sony’s version of iTunes.
With a Japanese test this Sunday, I'm busy trying to figure out why a word like 出来得る, even exists but I should be able to get hold of it early next week.
January's release, titled 2 Higher Clap 007 , is being produced by Cubismo Grafico.

This sounds like a pretty cool idea. I like this idea of them going back to thier older work. I am a little worried that it'll be a download thing that I won't be able to use. Like how you need a Japanese credit card to use the Japanese Itunes store. Cause I'm gonna want to get these songs.

^that's what I'm a little concerned about too. :/

Slalom '03 had jingle bells in it...I guess that qualifies it as a Christmas song. Haha.

Even though I'm not a fan of the 'download only' projects, I still look forward to this.
They're probably hoping to play off the popularity of their blog to make new fans.

I wonder what this means in terms of an album though. They're recording stuff, but are they recording stuff for a new album?

I'm a bit in a dilemma whether to buy those ATRAC tracks. I graduated from my MD days.

Btw, iTunes does NOT carry any Halcali, because Sony doesn't do iTunes.

I listened to the Slalom preview, and although it didn't seem much of an improvement over the original (which is one of my favourite Halcali tracks) i'm one of those loyal fans the record labels love who gets everything.

Januarys CG thing seems promising.

I guess I'll probably end up giving in. And yes I think that Cubismo track should be good!!

Btw, what level test are you taking? I'd assume level 1 since 出来得る isn't on my word list. :)
I'll be taking level 2 (in some odd remote location in Tokyo).

No, i'm taking 2 too!

でき得る is in my grammar book (the 完全マスター thing).

I just don't understand the difference between できる and でき得る (assuming there is one).

But I know what it means, which is the main thing I suppose. Not terribly hopeful about passing either, but we'll see.
Good luck!

I failed by 4 points (1%!) two years ago, so I'm hopeful to at least pass this time... though I'm not expecting to hit a real high score. I didn't study much at all.

I do remember learning about ~を得ない when studying back then.
Here are some random notes from that class (about difficult grammar/vocabulary in 2級).

Good luck to you too!

Anyone has the song?
I can't really sign up there... I don't even have the required software not for signing up and neither for using the service...

I'm having trouble with it. With no credit card right now, I was attempting to figure out the 'pay at the convenience store' option with no luck. Still have until the end of the month so i'm going to look for help.
The annoying thing is, I don't even particulary care for the song. The xmas bells kind of mess up what is probably one of my favourite Halcali songs, but its LIMITED EDITION! etc. and I just can't resist...
